Alternative Souvenir for London.

I've been going through all my work I did while at uni and uploading them to my Skrapbook account, and thought I'd share some of it on here as well.

This project, which was done with a partner (Claire Brooks) was about creating an alternative souvenir for London.

We created the Genuine Collection - bits of real London to take home with you.

It features:

Whole Collection

Water from the River Thames

Gravel from Buckingham Palace

Pigeon feathers from Trafalgar Square

Leaves from Hyde Park

We bought the bottles but the rest of the packaging was created by hand and the labels typed on a typewriter.

I previously posted about my feather collection. I have decided to pursue this into a sort of mini project, and just see what I can make with all the feathers I have collected.

Whilst researching the idea I came across this British artist, Kate MccGwire. I love her use of feathers to make cascading sculptures.

Although I won't be making anything this grand, it's a beautiful idea.

Portfolio.

I have uploaded some of my portfolio to Skrapbook, "the portfolio site for creatives who want to make an impact".

My portfolio was featured on their homepage (the H on the left) and I've been talking to the creator, Rich, on Twitter and he likes my work and is going to promote it for me tomorrow :)
