I used my SuperHeadz Blue Ribbon for this set of photos, and experimented with opening the back of the camera, only slightly and only for a split second, to see what I could get in terms of light leaks. I was inspired by this photo by kelley f, who I chatted to a bit when I was planning her feature on 27 Kodak Moments, and she told me this was the method she used to achieve this.
Some interesting results....
Wow! That stained glass one particularly is amazing!

Thanks Emily :)
DeleteThat's really interesting, I may have to try this out...!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely should have some fun experimenting! I'm planning to do some more :)
DeleteDo u have to open the door to let the light in each time u take a shoot or u just do that at tge end of the roll before re-winding?
ReplyDeleteI opened the door at periodic periods throughout shooting, so it was completely random. When you open it it'll only leak light to the section of film that is currently exposed, so it depends how much of the film you want to technically 'ruin' with this method - I still wanted to be able to see most of the photos so I only opened it after every few shots and only a very tiny gap.
DeleteThx Hannah, i guess u cant have it on the entire role and the leak effect is purely random, let me try that with my nikon f5......
