Internship.

I went for an interview last week for a Graphic Design and Illustration internship, which would be working with two companies. One of these sells nail art products, and the other is like Amazon for London market sellers. It went really well, and if I can negotiate working part time at work I would love to be able to do it two days a week. To see how I work and how we get on discussing ideas, I was set a couple of tasks.

One of these was to design a nail art plate. This was the example they gave me:

I was designing for a 'Frenchie' themed nail art plate, so basically designing french manicure tips. This is what I came up with:
The final outcome

Took me forever to turn these from initial sketches to drawing them on Illustrator - I'm still quite new to the programme and I've pretty much taught myself how to use it. But I'm very happy with what I came up with.

Task 2 was to go to a London market and take a few photos with the intention of creating a postcard to advertise the website where the market sellers show their work. I went to Portobello road, on a Monday, which was perhaps not the best idea because there wasn't much there but I still have a few ideas. I've sent the first photo off:

Winter is Here...

It's already pretty freezing, but I know it's only going to get colder yet. I love being able to wrap up in loads of layers and big jumpers and scarves though so I'm looking forward to it (although mainly I'm just looking forward to snow!)

So in honour the approaching months of freezing temperatures and dark nights, I've been uploading some photos from last winter to my Flickr. Head on over there to view the full set, and to find out which camera each shot is from.

The ice sculpture ones were taken at last year's London Ice Sculpting Festival, which I went to on my birthday. Some of them were truly amazing.

London Paralympics 2012.

These may be a tad late, but me, my mum and my sister got tickets to the London 2012 Paralympics. We went to see the Dressage. I'm not a fan of horses but my mum and sister love them and I just wanted to experience the atmosphere of London 2012!

Overall I had a really great time. Here are some of the photos I took (all on my Blue Cutie 35mm Jelly Toy Film Camera):
