Self-Promotional Mailer.

I don't have the funds to do anything fancy for my mailer, and the sort of jobs I can get are very mac based so I don't want to spend a load of time on anything handmade, even though it would be more unique, because it's just not relevant or what studios are looking for.

So I was thinking of an A5, or slightly smaller, postcard, with my 'H' motif and name on the front, and my contact details and a few examples of my work on the back.

I don't know if it's that clear, but I went for a rainbow look to the samples of my work. I thought it was a fun little idea :) haha

It's a pretty simple idea, but I hope it's enough to make me stand out from I'm sure the hundreds of emails they get where they don't have to look at the person's work. At least here they get some idea of what I do and hopefully they'll like it!
[The back also has my address on it but I didn't really fancy putting that on the internet!]

Creative Business Cards.

So I had a meeting/interview thing with a creative recruitment consultancy. I didn't get the job I went to talk to them about (it was a receptionist/studio administrator role which I wasn't suitable for but they said I'd be really bored doing it anyway so I don't really mind)
Anyway, I had a good chat with the interviewer, Kara, who gave me some good CV advice, and with another girl, Fiona, who suggested I should approach studios directly and send them a mailer, rather than just emailing them. She said this would make me stand out a bit more, so I'm going to try it out.

These are business cards rather than mailers, but it's the same sort of idea - highlighting what they do and their key skills.

These are all from this blog :)

Brilliantly sarcastic responses to completely well-meaning signs.

Probably ridiculously juvenile, but I love these! Hilarious :)

Expired Film.

I'm so in love with this photo.
Taken with my Olympus Trip 35, using film that expired in 2009.

Those wonderful people at Skrapbook have featured me in their September Newsletter :)

Christmas Cards.

The christmas cards I designed for the NET Patient Foundation are now up on their website (here) along with Baudine's designs, my competition!

Our cards are very different though - hers are very traditional whereas mine are modern, playing on the charity's logo.
I'm sure by the end of the month a few more people will have submitted some designs, but I'm still hoping mine will get printed! That would be awesome and no doubt everyone we know will be getting them, raising some really good money for the charity!

I'm in Print!

The new Yellow Pages came today, which means I'm officially in print!

The advert I designed for Hughes & Co Design is in there, right in the middle of the page. So exciting!
