Happy Halloween!

You may have seen the previous cake pops I made, well in honour of Halloween I made some more. I was hoping to make pumpkins, black cats and ghosts but I couldn't get all the ingredients I needed to I just made the ghosts.

The cake balls are coated in a layer of white candy melts with a circle of ready rolled icing on top. So cute!

I also did some Halloween inspired nail art:

Christmas is Coming....

I've finally gotten round to uploading some more items to my Folksy online store, Wishcatcher Crafts.

I've been making a start on some Christmas decorations, and here's what I've come up with so far. I've got loads of ideas for other things I want to make, it's just finding the time to do it! I don't know if you saw the cake pops I made for a friend's birthday but I'm going to try and make some little ghost ones tomorrow night which I'm very excited about! Fingers crossed they work ok :)

London Paralympics 2012.

These may be a tad late, but me, my mum and my sister got tickets to the London 2012 Paralympics. We went to see the Dressage. I'm not a fan of horses but my mum and sister love them and I just wanted to experience the atmosphere of London 2012!

Overall I had a really great time. Here are some of the photos I took (all on my Blue Cutie 35mm Jelly Toy Film Camera):

Trying to be Deep and Meaningful.

You might remember a couple of weeks ago I asked for help with how to display the hundreds of photos I've had printed over the last couple of years. Well I've started the sketch/scrapbook idea I had. I've only done 2 so far and there are at least 10 categories to my photos (so I need to stock up on sketchbooks! They're from The Works and are currently on sale) but I thought I'd keep you updated on my progress.

The photos are stuck in with double sided tape (pretty permanent, but I've already scanned in all the good ones and I've got the negatives) with a caption underneath saying which camera they're from and if there's any additional information.

The photo on the cover gives an idea what the album is about. I've tried to pick ones with quotes on as I think this makes it clearer, although for some categories I don't have any text photos so I may have to fashion some.

Pop!

My mum just bought a book on cake pops, and as me and my friends were stuck with what to get another friend for her birthday, I decided to have a go at making my own.

I LOVE how they turned out! Yes they're sickly sweet as the cake mix has buttercream in it and they've covered in melted chocolate, but they look amazing so I don't think it even matters how they taste!

The coating is melted Candy Melts which I got from Hobbycraft (I got the pink, white and red ones, but I burnt the white ones...oops!)

The lolly sticks are also from Hobbycraft

My mum came up with the genius idea of using a colander to hold the cake pops while they set.
